Change is Possible 

Being a college student is hard but can you imagine being a college student, a single mom and a recovering drug addict?

Well Portia Cook had done the unthinkable and has continued to rise above the stigmas that may come with any of those. 

 

After being a meth, and a crack addict for a little bit of her childhood, all of her teens, and a little bit of adulthood, Portia realized she needed to turn some things around because she decided to keep a little baby girl at 22. Even after considering all the options, it was simple. She couldn't be a good mom and be on drugs at the same time. Something had to change.

It night have taken two years and a lot of long hard days wanting to go back to her normal life, Portia succeeded in turning her life around. She stated college two weeks after having her son and is now a year away from graduating with a degree in journalism and media communications.

Not only has Portia successfully done picked her life back up she did while doing three very hard tasks at the same time. She's an amazing mother and her daughter and son are some of the nicest and smartest kids and Portia is an inspiration, a champion and a
